When Janice was in high school, she had obtained a reputation as a person who studied much of the time and who rarely, if ever, let her hair down by drinking with her friends. She seemed nearly obsessed about excelling academically so that she would be able to secure a career that she not only got pleasure from but one that also gave her a degree of security from a financial position.

After much contemplation, finally she made up her mind that she wanted to be a trial lawyer. In order to do this, however, she would first have to attend four years of undergrad education.

After Graduating From High School Janice Gets Accepted Into A Prominent Undergraduate University as a Foundation For a Career as an Attorney

After Janice finished high school, she applied to and was accepted into a celebrated program in sociology. Her rationale for this decision was that this area of study would be good training for law school and wouldn’t be indistinguishable from the bulk of law school applicants who major in political science at the undergraduate level.

After graduating with highest honors at the undergraduate level, she applied to and was accepted at a well known law school at one of the Ivy League universities.

She was energized by her legal studies but periodically she was overwhelmed with all the work that had to be accomplished at law school. In much the same way as she had done in her high school and undergraduate days, however, she made buddies quite easily but very infrequently participated in social activities until the school period was done.

After Thrilled with the Fact That She Had Done a Super Job on Her Tests, Janice Wanted to Let Her Hair Down and Do Something Besides Going to College For a Change

Janice was the kind of person who worked meticulously to complete what she was doing and then would take a couple of days off when she could. As is the case, however, the vast majority of the things she did between school sessions or during her summer vacations did not have much to do with drinking. Clearly, Janice was anything but a party-person. Now that her final examinations for her second year in law school were over and feeling overjoyed that she had done extremely well on her exams, however, she wanted to take a break and do some celebrating.

Drinking at a Local Nightclub Results in Symptoms of Alcohol Poisoning, Calling 911, The Emergency Services Number, and An Ambulance Ride to An Alcohol Rehab Clinic

So Janice and several of her buddies went to a local club where they had a few cocktails. As the hours quickly passed, Janice continued to drink without having to worry about tests or research projects the next day. Indeed, Janice told her buddies how enjoyable it was to have fun drinking with classmates from her apartment.

As the evening went by, Janice and her friends continued to drink. As a matter of fact, she was having such a terrific time that she didn’t want the night to come to an end. It was almost like she was making up for lost time and attempting to compress a year’s worth of fun into a single evening. Such a “game plan,” however, infrequently works. Indeed, when Janice went to the restroom and vomited, her pals started to feel uneasy about her wellbeing.

About thirty minutes later when Janice started to talk in a confused manner, slur her speech, and then become unconscious, in spite of this, her pals without delay knew that they needed to call 911, the emergency services number, and ask for medical assistance because they suspected that Janice was exhibiting alcohol poisoning symptoms.

Once Janice was in the drug and alcohol rehab hospital, the head physician corroborated what her buddies had suspected, to be precise, that Janice had significantly more alcohol than her body could metabolize and, as a consequence, she experienced an alcohol overdose.

After the medical team pumped her stomach until no gastric contents were discernible, Janice was transported to the recovery room. After staying around three hours in recovery, Janice was then relocated to one of the regular hospital rooms. Fortunately, the worst part of her hospitalization had passed and all of her vital signs returned to normal.

In response to Janice’s medical predicament, her friends caringly called her parents. Consequently, early the next morning, her Mom and Dad and her best buddies went to the hospital to see Janice.

Janice Comes an Inch From Losing Her Life, is Gratified to be Alive, and Promises to Never Again Drink in an Abusive and Irresponsible Manner

Janice was conscious of the fact that she had dodged a bullet and, as a result, was grateful to be alive. Her Mother and Father realized how rigorously she studied at college and how little she permitted herself to socialize with her pals. Nonetheless, they also were aware that Janice needed to keep away from excessive drinking.

As a consequence, they recommended that in the future, whenever a drinking opportunity unfolds, that she always drink in moderation. Janice agreed and gave her word to her friends and to her Mom and Dad that she would never again drink in an excessive manner. As stated by Janice, “I never had a clue that I would become one of the alcohol abuse and alcoholism statistics in the local city newspaper. I now understand that abusive and hazardous drinking is not for me. I guarantee that this will never happen again.”

Fortunately, Janice was not only “school smart” but she also possessed common sense. Stated differently, she instantaneously understood that she had made an error in judgment and decided that she would never make the same error again. Indeed, she now realized that she had involved herself in “binge drinking” and that even one instance of this kind of abusive drinking can end in death.

She seemed nearly obsessed about excelling academically so that she would be able to secure a career that she not only benefited from but one that also gave her some financial stability.

After much reflection, ultimately she came to a decision that she wanted to be a lawyer. In order to pull this off, however, she would first have to complete four years of undergrad education.

After Finishing High School Janice Gets Accepted Into A Nationally Ranked Undergraduate University as Preparation For a Career as an Attorney

After Janice graduated from high school, she applied to and was accepted into a famous program in religion. Her justification for this decision was that this academic discipline would be a good springboard for law school and wouldn’t be identical to the bulk of law school applicants who decide to take political science as their undergraduate major.

After graduating with highest honors at the undergrad level, she applied to and was accepted at a prominent law school at one of the Big East universities.

She was pleased with her legal studies but every now and then she was swamped with all the work that law school entailed. Reminiscent to the way she handled herself in her high school and undergraduate days, nonetheless, she made pals quite easily but scarcely got involved in social events until the semester was finished.

After Being Jubilant With the Fact That She Had Done a Super Job on Her Exams, Janice Wanted to Take a Break and do Some Celebrating

Janice was the type of individual who worked in a diligent manner to finish what she was doing and then would take a rest when she could. It just so happens, nevertheless, that most of the things she did between terms or during her summer vacations did not have anything to do with drinking. Needless to say, Janice was anything but a partygoer. Now that her finals for her second year in law school were over and feeling overjoyed that she had done very well on her tests, nonetheless, she wanted to let her hair down and do something besides going to college for a change.

Drinking at a Local Nightclub Leads to An Alcohol Overdose, Calling 911, and a Trip to The Hospital

So Janice and a few of her friends from school went to a local watering hole where they had a few mixed drinks. As the hours quickly passed, Janice continued to drink without having any concerns about research projects or tests the next day. In truth, Janice told her buddies how much fun it was to whoop it up and drink with her law school pals.

As the evening advanced, Janice and her pals continued to drink. Indeed, she was having such a magnificent time that she didn’t want the night to come to an end. It was almost like she was making up for lost time and making an effort to squeeze a year’s worth of fun into a single evening. Such a “game plan,” it needs to be stressed, hardly ever works. In point of fact, when Janice went to the powder room and vomited, her pals started to get concerned about her wellbeing.

About twenty minutes later when Janice started to slur her words, speak in a confused manner, and then pass out, in spite of this, her buddies promptly knew that they needed to call 911, the emergency services number, and ask for medical assistance because they thought that Janice was displaying alcohol poisoning symptoms.

Once Janice was in the rehab hospital, the presiding doctor confirmed what her buddies had hypothesized, to be exact, that Janice drank substantially more alcohol than her body could process and, as a result, she suffered from an alcohol overdose.

After the emergency room medical staff pumped her stomach until no gastric contents were detectable, Janice was transported to the recovery room. After staying about four hours in recovery, Janice was then transported to one of the regular hospital rooms. Fortunately, the most perilous part of her hospitalization was over and all of her vital signs were normal once again.

In response to Janice’s hospitalization, her buddies considerately telephoned her parents. As a consequence, early the next morning, her Mother and Father and her favorite pals went to the hospital to see how Janice was doing.

Janice Dodges a Bullet, is Grateful to be Alive, and Promises to Never Again Drink in an Irresponsible and Excessive Manner

Janice was attentive to the fact that she had dodged a bullet and, consequently, was thankful to be alive. Her Mom and Dad were aware how relentlessly she studied at the university and how little she permitted herself to socialize with her classmates. Nonetheless, they also were aware that Janice needed to steer clear of irresponsible drinking.

As a result, they recommended that in the future, whenever a drinking circumstance arises, that she always drink in moderation and responsibly. Janice was of the same opinion and promised her friends and her Mother and Father that she would never again drink in an irresponsible and excessive manner. In Janice’s own words, “I never had an inkling that I would become one of the alcohol abuse and alcoholism statistics in the local college newspaper. I now understand that excessive and abusive drinking is not for me. I promise that this will never happen again.”

Fortunately, Janice was not only “book smart” but she also possessed common sense. In other words, she quickly comprehended that she had made an error and made up her mind that she would never make the same error again. In fact, she now understood that she had involved herself in “binge drinking” and that even one instance of this kind of alcohol abuse can end in death.

She seemed passionate about excelling academically so that she would be able to go after a career that she not only liked but one that also gave her some security from a financial position.

After much deliberation, finally she decided that she wanted to be a lawyer. In order to accomplish this, nevertheless, she would first have to attend four years of undergrad education.

After Graduating From High School Janice Gets Accepted Into A Nationally Ranked Undergraduate University as Preparation For a Career as an Attorney

After Janice completed high school, she applied to and was accepted into a well known program in math. Her rationale underlying this decision was that this subject would be a good springboard for law school and wouldn’t be comparable to the majority of law school applicants who pick political science as their undergraduate major.

After graduating with a 3.95 GPA at the undergraduate level, she applied to and was accepted at a celebrated law school at one of the Big East universities.

She was energized by her legal studies but periodically she was beleaguered about all the work that had to be accomplished at law school. Not unlike her high school and undergraduate days, nevertheless, she made buddies quite easily but barely got involved in social functions until the school period had ended.

After Being Pleased That She Had Done Very Well on Her Tests, Janice Wanted to Take a Break and do Some Celebrating

Janice was the type of individual who worked diligently to finish what she started and then would take a breather when she could. As is the case, nonetheless, nearly all of the things she did between terms or during summer breaks did not have much of anything to do with drinking. Evidently, Janice was anything but a partygoer. Now that her final examinations for her second year in law school were completed and appreciating the fact that she had done extremely well on her exams, because of this, she wanted to let her hair down and do something enjoyable.

Drinking at a Local Bar Results in Symptoms of Alcohol Poisoning, Calling 911, The Emergency Services Number, and a Visit to An Alcohol Treatment Facility

So Janice and a few of her friends from school went to a local pub where they had a few shots. As the hours flew by, Janice continued to drink without having to worry about exams or class the following day. In point of fact, Janice mentioned to her buddies how excited she was to ”get down” and drink with her buddies from school.

As the evening advanced, Janice and her classmates continued to drink. In truth, she was having such a great time that she didn’t want the night to end. It was almost like she was making up for lost time and making an effort to cram a year’s worth of fun and laughter into a single evening. Such a “game plan,” however, hardly ever works. In point of fact, when Janice went to the powder room and vomited, her classmates started to feel uneasy about her health.

Around twenty-five minutes later when Janice started to talk in a confused manner, slur her speech, and then become unconscious, nonetheless, her pals without delay realized that they needed to call 911, the emergency number, and ask for medical assistance because they thought that Janice was manifesting alcohol poisoning symptoms.

Once Janice was in the alcohol rehab hospital, the presiding emergency room physician substantiated what her friends had thought, namely, that Janice had significantly more alcohol than her body could metabolize and, consequently, she suffered from an alcohol overdose.

After the medical team pumped her stomach until no gastric contents were noticeable, Janice was wheeled to the recovery room. After staying almost six hours in recovery, Janice was then moved to one of the regular hospital rooms.
In response to Janice’s medical predicament, her pals caringly telephoned her parents. Consequently, early the next day, her Mom and Dad and her best friends went to the hospital to visit Janice and look into her medical condition.

Janice Comes Close to Losing Her Life, is Grateful to be Alive, and Promises to Never Again Drink in an Abusive and Excessive Manner

Janice was conscious of the fact that she had dodged a bullet and, as a consequence, was pleased to be alive.
Consequently, they recommended that in the future, whenever a drinking opportunity unfolds, that she always drink in moderation.
Fortunately, Janice was not only “book smart” but she also had common sense. In other words, she immediately grasped the fact that she had made an error and made up her mind that she would never make the same error again.

When Janice was in high school, she had achieved a reputation as a person who hit the books real hard and who rarely, if ever, whooped it up by drinking with her friends. She seemed almost obsessed about excelling academically so that she would be able to find a career that she not only benefited from but one that also gave her a degree of security from a financial standpoint.

After much consideration, in time she decided that she wanted to be a trial lawyer. In order to realize this goal, nonetheless, she would first have to complete four years of undergrad education.

After Completing High School Janice Gets Accepted Into A Greatly Admired Undergraduate University as Preparation For a Career as a Trial Lawyer

After Janice finished high school, she applied to and was accepted into an illustrious program in linguistics. Her logic for this decision was that this area of study would be a good springboard for law school and wouldn’t be identical to the bulk of law school applicants who select political science as their undergraduate major.

After graduating with a 3.95 GPA at the undergrad level, she applied to and was accepted at a greatly admired law school at one of the Pacific Ten universities.

She liked her legal studies but on rare occasions she was “up to her ears” with all the work that was necessary at law school. Reminiscent to the way she handled herself in her high school and undergraduate days, nonetheless, she made friends effortlessly but very infrequently took part in social functions until the quarter was completed.

After Feeling Proud of the Fact That She Had Done Extremely Well on Her Exams, Janice Wanted to Let Her Hair Down and Have Some Fun

Janice was the kind of person who worked in a rigorous manner to finish what she was doing and then would take a rest when she could. It just so happens, however, that virtually all of the things she did between school sessions or during summer breaks were not associated with drinking. Obviously, Janice was anything but a party-girl. Now that her final examinations for her second year in law school were completed and elated with the fact that she had done extremely well on her finals, nevertheless, she wanted to let her hair down and do something besides school work for a change.

Drinking at a Local Nightclub Leads to Alcohol Poisoning Symptoms, Calling The Emergency Number, and An Ambulance Ride to An Alcohol Rehab Hospital

So Janice and several of her friends from the university went to a local bar where they started to have a few drinks. As the hours went by, Janice continued to drink without having a care in the world about tests or class the next day. If truth be told, Janice stated to her friends how overjoyed she was to whoop it up by drinking with her friends.

As the evening went by, Janice and her pals continued to drink. In point of fact, she was having such a marvelous time that she didn’t want the night to come to an end. It was almost like she was making up for lost time and trying to pack a year’s worth of fun and enjoyment into a single evening. Such a “game plan,” however, seldom works. In actual fact, when Janice went to the restroom and vomited, her classmates started to feel apprehensive about her health.

About thirty minutes later when Janice started to talk in a confused manner, slur her speech, and then fall unconscious, nevertheless, her classmates promptly knew that they needed to call 911 and ask for emergency assistance because they thought that Janice was exhibiting alcohol poisoning symptoms.

Once Janice was in the drug and alcohol rehab hospital, the lead healthcare professional verified what her classmates had believed, that is to say, that Janice drank substantially more alcohol than her body could handle and, as a consequence, she experienced an alcohol overdose.

After the emergency room medical staff pumped her stomach until no gastric contents were discernible, Janice was relocated to the recovery room. After staying approximately two hours in recovery, Janice was then moved to one of the regular hospital rooms. Fortunately, the most critical part of her hospitalization was over and all of her vital signs were normal once again.

In response to Janice’s situation, her friends caringly phoned her Mother and Father. Consequently, early the next day, her parents and her best friends went to the hospital to visit Janice.

Janice Narrowly Escapes Death, is Thankful to be Alive, and Promises to Never Again Drink in an Abusive and Irresponsible Manner

Janice was conscious of the fact that she came close to dying and, as a result, was pleased to be alive. Her Mom and Dad were aware how intensely she studied in graduate school and how little she permitted herself to socialize with her classmates. Nonetheless, they also knew that Janice needed to keep away from abusive drinking.

As a result, they suggested that in the future, whenever a drinking occasion unfolds, that she always drink in moderation and responsibly. Janice agreed and swore to her Mother and Father and to her friends that she would never again drink in an irresponsible manner. As stated by Janice, “I never thought that I would become one of the alcohol abuse and alcoholism statistics in the local college newspaper. I now grasp the fact that excessive and irresponsible drinking is not for me. I pledge that this will never happen again.”

Fortunately, Janice was not only “school smart” but she also displayed a lot of common sense. That is, she instantaneously realized that she had made an error and decided that she would never make the same error in judgment again. Indeed, she now knew that she had involved herself in “binge drinking” and that even one instance of this kind of excessive drinking can end in a loss of life.

Just a week ago, Frank applied for a position as a bouncer at one of the local discos. He had studied judo, gatka, aikido, karate, and ninjitsu for twelve years; he was a body builder; he took daily supplements, minerals, and vitamins; he was into healthy eating and health foods; and he seemed well matched for such a position. In truth, since he was concerned about his health, he started drinking in moderation around two years ago and then totally quit drinking alcohol around fourteen months ago.

When Frank received the announcement that he had been picked for the job, he was really happy. Since this was a private disco, nonetheless, he had to go through a one week training class.

Individuals At Discos Who Drink Abusively and Alcohol Overdose Signs and Symptoms

On the first day of class, the teacher started talking about drinkers who drink in an abusive manner and what the barmaids, bartenders, and bouncers should do when this state of affairs arises. When the lecturer started discussing alcohol poisoning, Frank was happy to find out that all of the new barmaids, bartenders, and bouncers were required to learn about alcohol poisoning and what they should do when they noticed a person who was exhibiting alcohol poisoning symptoms or manifesting the signs of alcohol poisoning.

More specifically, all the new workers were instructed that vomiting and nausea were almost always the first signs of alcohol poisoning and that unconsciousness was in all probability the most highly identifiable alcohol poisoning symptom or sign. The teacher also made it a point to stress the fact that alcohol poisoning symptoms were messages from the body and from the brain that the individual has ingested more alcohol than his or her body can process.

There were, nevertheless, quite a few other symptoms and signs of alcohol poisoning that all the new bouncers, barmaids, and bartenders were taught to be familiar with. For example, the students in the class learned that people who suffer from alcohol poisoning often have seizures, are difficult to awaken, exhibit confusion, and they exhibit poor reflex responses.

In addition, the class members were made aware that many individuals who suffer from alcohol poisoning also display slow, shallow or irregular breathing; blue tinged or pale skin; little response from painful stimuli, for instance from pinching; and slurred speech.

Not only this but, individuals who suffer from alcohol poisoning commonly feel very ill and exhibit excessive vomiting, they often display erratic behavior, exhibit an inability to make eye contact or sustain a conversation, and they often pass out.

An Instructor Spells Out Why An Alcohol Overdose is Not Always Suffered Only by Alcohol Addicted People

The trainer then clarified the point that alcohol poisoning is not always experienced only by alcohol dependent people.

More accurately, the instructor told the members in the class that most cases of alcohol poisoning were in all likelihood experienced by alcohol abusers and that a particular form of alcohol abuse known as “binge drinking” was in all probability the key precipitating factor in most circumstances involving alcohol poisoning. The instructor then defined binge drinking as follows: drinking five or more alcoholic beverages at one sitting for males and consuming four or more alcoholic drinks at one sitting for females.

To explain the impact that binge drinking has on alcohol poisoning, the teacher told the members in the class that a person who gets inebriated just once or twice every year, is by definition engaging in abusive drinking, is in all probability not alcohol addicted, but is most likely engaging in binge drinking. As articulated by the lecturer, engaging in binge drinking even once, regrettably, can lead to alcohol poisoning that in some circumstances can be fatal.

The Teacher Explains Why Letting A Drinker With an Alcohol Overdose Sleep is Not An Acceptable Plan of Action

One of the students in the class raised her hand and asked the trainer if it is a good idea to let a person with alcohol poisoning “sleep it off.” The instructor claimed that letting a drinker with alcohol poisoning go to sleep is exactly what should not be done because doing so places the individual at risk since he or she is no longer being observed. Furthermore, letting the drinker go to sleep when she or he experiences alcohol poisoning is an erroneous response because the person may never awaken.

The instructor then explained to the class that the most fitting response for alcohol poisoning is the following: if it is suspected that a person has alcohol poisoning, call 911 and ask for emergency medical assistance, even if the drinker is underage. By pursuing this plan of action, the person will get the prompt alcohol poisoning treatment he or she needs.

Summary

After learning about alcohol poisoning and particularly about the symptoms and signs of alcohol poisoning, it may be pointed out, Frank felt that he had learned some critical information that might save a person’s life down the road. Indeed, Frank learned that knowledge of the predictable alcohol poisoning signs and symptoms and knowing how to quickly and properly respond to such symptoms and signs (by immediately calling 911 and asking for urgent medical assistance) can help an individual avoid a deadly case of alcohol poisoning.

When Frank received notification that he had been hand picked for the job, he was especially pleased. Due to the fact that this was an exclusive discotheque, however, he had to go through a four week training class.

People At Discos Who Drink In an Excessive Manner and Alcohol Overdose Signs and Symptoms

On the first day of class, the lecturer started talking about individuals who drink in a hazardous manner and what the barmaids, bouncers, and bartenders should do when this state of affairs arises.
More specifically, all the new barmaids, bouncers, and bartenders learned that nausea and vomiting were almost without exception the first signs of alcohol poisoning and that unconsciousness was in all probability the most highly observable alcohol poisoning sign or symptom. The teacher also made it a point to highlight the fact that alcohol poisoning symptoms were signals from the brain and from the body that the individual has ingested more alcohol than his or her body can process.

There were, nonetheless, numerous other symptoms and signs of alcohol poisoning that all the new barmaids, bartenders, and bouncers were taught to recognize.
Moreover, individuals who have alcohol poisoning regularly exhibit an inability to make eye contact or sustain a conversation, often pass out, they often display erratic behavior, and they usually feel very ill and exhibit excessive vomiting.

An Instructor Spells Out Why An Alcohol Overdose is Not Necessarily Suffered Only by People Who Are Alcohol Dependent

To exemplify the bearing that binge drinking has on alcohol poisoning, the instructor told the members of the class that a drinker who gets intoxicated once or twice annually, is by definition engaging in abusive drinking, is probably not alcohol dependent, but is more likely than not engaging in binge drinking. As stated by the trainer, engaging in binge drinking even once, regrettably, can result in alcohol poisoning that in some instances can be fatal.

The Instructor Spells Out Why Letting An Individual With Alcohol Poisoning Sleep is Not The Proper Plan of Action

One of the students in the class raised her hand and asked the trainer if it is a good idea to let a person with alcohol poisoning “sleep it off.” The instructor commented that letting a drinker with alcohol poisoning go to sleep is specifically what should not be done because doing so places the person at risk since he or she is no longer being observed. Additionally, letting the person sleep when she or he experiences alcohol poisoning is an incorrect response because the individual may never awaken.

The instructor then informed the students in the class that the most appropriate response for alcohol poisoning is the following: if it is suspected that a person has alcohol poisoning, call 911 and ask for immediate medical assistance, even if the individual is underage. By following this plan of action, the person will get the prompt alcohol poisoning treatment he or she requires.

Summary

After learning about alcohol poisoning and particularly about the signs and symptoms of alcohol poisoning, it may be pointed out, Frank understood that he had learned some vital information that might save a drinker’s life down the road. Unmistakably, Frank learned that knowledge of the typical alcohol poisoning signs and symptoms and knowing how to properly and quickly respond to such signs and symptoms (by promptly calling 911 and asking for emergency medical assistance) can help a person avoid a deadly alcohol overdose.

Jeffrey was a high school freshman who frequently seemed to be living on the edge. Jeffrey had an adventurous personality and commonly wanted to do what his older brothers were doing. The essential glitch with this was that all three of his brothers were at least 21 years old and were consequently able from a legal framework to drive a car or truck and to drink alcohol.

Jeffrey, on the other hand, had a difficult time accepting the fact that as a fifteen-year-old teenager he should not be drinking alcoholic beverages. In fact, in spite of this, Jeffrey frequently drank with his pals after school, predominantly on the weekends.

One weekend, Jeffrey made up his mind to drive around with some of his older friends. One of his cronies was old enough to buy alcohol. After purchasing some wine coolers, wine, and beer, Jeffrey and all of his cronies went to a park and drank for approximately two or three hours.

Jeffrey Experiences Alcohol Poisoning Symptoms

After drinking more or less ten alcoholic benerages, Jeffrey started to feel queasy and then threw up. When he became unconscious on the football field, one of his pals called 911 for immediate medical assistance. It was fortunate that the call for emergency help was made because when his cronies went to the hospital to see Jeffrey, they were told that Jeffrey had been showing evidence of alcohol poisoning symptoms. Simply put, Jeffrey had experienced an alcohol overdose.

When Your Buddies Drink Abusively

Jeffrey had learned that drinking in a hazardous manner can result in alcohol poisoning but he never thought that this could happen to him. After all, some of his cronies frequently articulated that they could drink twenty four or more bottles of beer at one sitting without going through any significant setbacks.

Armed with this information, Jeffrey was truthfully shocked to realize that he had overdosed on alcohol because he “only” had around ten alcoholic beverages. When he explained this to the attending physicain at the hospital, conversely, the healthcare practitioner told Jeffrey that drinking ten cans of beer over a two or three hour period of time could in reality be quite a bit more alcohol than can be metabolized by the body. The physicain further stated how too much alcohol can cause the brain to shut down a person’s breathing and that when this happens, an individual can pass away.

The First Symptom of Hazardous Drinking

This was the first cautionary message to Jeffrey that he was drinking in a perilous way and that there is a price tag for such deeds. The healthcare practitioner told Jeffrey that he was a lucky person because he almost died from an alcohol overdose the night before.

The physicain also conversed with Jeffrey’s parents and suggested that they get alcohol rehabilitation for Jeffrey. His parents were relieved that Jeffrey was safe and sound and informed the healthcare practitioner that they would get Jeffrey alcohol counseling.

While talking to his parents, Jeffrey told them that there must be a good reason why he did not die and that he felt a sense of thankfulness that he was still alive. He also informed his parents that the weirdest part about the entire drinking event was that he had learned about alcohol poisoning the last six week grading period in health class at school.

When Learning Something in Class Can Make a Difference

At the time, what his health instructor, Mr. Franklin, was saying didn’t seem to make a lot of sense to Jeffrey. Since he almost passed away, on the other hand, he felt that he should have listened more closely in Mr. Franklin’s health class and applied what he had learned to his personal life.

Jeffrey told his parents that he couldn’t wait to go back to school and make an apology to Mr. Franklin for not paying better attention to a subject that was as pertinent as learning about alcohol abuse and how to stay away from an alcohol overdose.

His parents smiled at Jeffrey and said that they were thrilled with the way he was accepting responsibility for his risky drinking behavior. All he had to do now was to let this almost deadly experience make an impact his life in a productive way so that he would never again suffer from a case of alcohol poisoning.

Recently, Frank applied for a position as a bouncer at one of the local clubs. He had studied karate, aikido, gatka, ninjitsu, and judo for thirteen years; he was a body builder; he took daily vitamins, supplements, and minerals; he was into healthy eating and health foods; and he seemed well matched for such a position. In fact, since he was concerned about his health, he started drinking in moderation roughly three years ago and then totally quit drinking alcohol about fourteen months ago.

When Frank received notice that he had been picked for the job, he was exceptionally happy. Since this was an exclusive club, nevertheless, he had to go through a five week instructional class.

Individuals At Nightclubs Who Drink Too Much and Alcohol Overdose Symptoms and Signs

On the first day of class, the teacher started talking about people who drink in a hazardous manner and what the barmaids, bartenders, and bouncers should do when this state of affairs arises. When the trainer started speaking about alcohol poisoning, Frank was happy to learn that all of the new bouncers, barmaids, and bartenders had to learn about alcohol poisoning and what they should do when they noticed a drinker who was displaying alcohol poisoning symptoms or displaying the signs of alcohol poisoning.

More specifically, all the new barmaids, bartenders, and bouncers learned that vomiting and nausea were almost without exception the first signs of alcohol poisoning and that unconsciousness was perhaps the most highly obvious alcohol poisoning sign or symptom. The trainer also made it a point to underline the fact that alcohol poisoning signs were signals from the brain and from the body that the individual has consumed more alcohol than his or her body can metabolize.

There were, nevertheless, more than a few other signs and symptoms of alcohol poisoning that all the new barmaids, bouncers, and bartenders were trained to be aware of. For example, the students in the class were made aware that drinkers who suffer from alcohol poisoning exhibit poor reflex responses, exhibit confusion, are difficult to awaken, and they often have seizures.

Additionally, the members in the class were made aware that many individuals who experience alcohol poisoning also exhibit slow, shallow or irregular breathing; little response from painful stimuli, for instance from pinching; blue tinged or pale skin; and slurred speech.

What is more, people who have alcohol poisoning commonly exhibit an inability to make eye contact or sustain a conversation, they often display erratic behavior, they often pass out, and they usually feel very ill and exhibit excessive vomiting.

An Instructor Give Details Why An Alcohol Overdose is Not Always Experienced Only by Alcohol Dependent People

The instructor then stated that alcohol poisoning is not always experienced only by people who are addicted to alcohol.

More explicitly, the instructor explained to the class members that most cases of alcohol poisoning were more likely than not experienced by alcohol abusers and that a specific form of alcohol abuse known as “binge drinking” was perchance the essential precipitating factor in most situations involving alcohol poisoning. The trainer then defined binge drinking as follows: ingesting five or more alcoholic drinks at one sitting for males and drinking four or more alcoholic beverages at one sitting for females.

To exemplify the influence that binge drinking has on alcohol poisoning, the teacher informed the class members that an individual who gets smashed just once on an annual basis, is by definition engaging in abusive drinking, is in all probability not alcohol addicted, but is in all probability engaging in binge drinking. As articulated by the instructor, engaging in binge drinking even once, regrettably, can result in alcohol poisoning that in some circumstances can be lethal.

The Teacher Spells Out Why Letting A Drinker With an Alcohol Overdose Sleep is Not The Right Plan of Action

One of the members of the class raised her hand and asked the trainer if it is a good idea to let an individual with alcohol poisoning “sleep it off.” The teacher declared that letting a person with alcohol poisoning sleep is exactly what should not be done because doing so places the drinker at risk since he or she is no longer being observed. Furthermore, letting the individual go to sleep when he or she experiences alcohol poisoning is a flawed response because the person may never awaken.

The instructor then told the class members that the best response for alcohol poisoning is the following: if it is suspected that a person has alcohol poisoning, call 911 and ask for emergency medical assistance, even if the individual is underage. By taking this plan of action, the individual will get the prompt alcohol poisoning treatment he or she requires.

Conclusion

After learning about alcohol poisoning and particularly about the signs and symptoms of alcohol poisoning, it may be noted, Frank believed that he had learned some vital information that might save a drinker’s life in the future. As a matter of fact, Frank learned that knowledge of the frequently occurring alcohol poisoning symptoms and signs and knowing how to appropriately and quickly respond to such symptoms and signs (by immediately calling 911 and asking for urgent medical assistance) can help a person avoid a fatal alcohol overdose.

Jeffrey was a high school freshman who frequently seemed to be living on the edge. Jeffrey had an adventurous personality and frequently wanted to do what his older brothers were doing to have fun. The key glitch with this was that all three of his brothers were at least 21 years old and were consequently within their legal rights to operate a car and to ingest alcohol.

Jeffrey, then again, had a tough time understanding that as a fifteen-year-old young person he should not be drinking alcoholic beverages. In fact, conversely, Jeffrey generally drank with his cronies after school, primarily on the weekends.

One weekend, Jeffrey decided to drive around with some of his older buddies. One of his guy friends was old enough to buy alcohol. After purchasing some wine coolers, wine, and beer, Jeffrey and all of the guys went to a public recreational area and drank for about three hours.

A Young Man Passes Out

After drinking roughly ten wine coolers, Jeffrey started to feel queasy and then vomited. When he passed out on the baseball field, one of his pals called 911 for immediate assistance. It was fortunate that the call for emergency assistance was made because when his guy friends went to the hospital to see Jeffrey, they learned that Jeffrey had been exhibiting alcohol poisoning symptoms. Simply put, Jeffrey had experienced an alcohol overdose.

When Your Friends Drink Excessively

Jeffrey had learned that drinking a great deal can result in an alcohol overdose but he never thought that this would ever happen to him. After all, some of his cronies time and again stated that they could drink twenty or more cans of beer in a few hours without feeling any critical difficulties.

Based on this, Jeffrey was in reality surprised to hear that he had overdosed on alcohol because he “only” had more or less ten drinks. When he explained this to the attending doctor at the hospital, nevertheless, the physicain notified Jeffrey that drinking ten cans of beer over a two or three hour time frame could certainly be substantially more alcohol than can be processed by the body. The healthcare professional further stated how too much alcohol can cause the brain to shut down an individual’s respiratory system and that when this happens, a person can cease to exist.

The First Signal of Abusive Drinking

This was the first forewarning to Jeffrey that he was drinking in an unsafe manner and that there are ramifications for such actions. The physicain told Jeffrey that he was a fortunate person because he almost lost his life from an alcohol overdose the night before.

The healthcare professional also spoke to Jeffrey’s parents and suggested that they get alcohol therapy for Jeffrey. His parents were jubilant that Jeffrey was out of harm’s way and notified the doctor that they would follow through on getting Jeffrey alcohol rehabilitation.

While chatting with his parents, Jeffrey notified them that there must be a solid reason why he did not die and that he felt thankful that he was still alive. He also notified his parents that the peculiar part about the entire drinking situation was that he had learned about alcohol poisoning the previous week at school in Mr. Franklin’s health class.

When Learning Something in Class Can Change Your Life

At the time, what his health teacher, Mr. Franklin, was saying didn’t seem to make too much sense to Jeffrey. Now that he almost passed away, however, he felt that he should have listened more conscientiously in class and applied what he had learned to his daily living.

Jeffrey notified his parents that he couldn’t wait to go back to Mr. Franklin’s classroom and express regret to Mr. Franklin for not paying better attention to something that was as noteworthy as learning about alcohol abuse and how to avoid an alcohol overdose.

His parents smiled at Jeffrey and said that they were delighted with the way he was accepting responsibility for his unsafe drinking actions. All he had to do now was to let this almost deadly experience affect his life in a productive manner so that he would never again experience a case of alcohol poisoning.

When Janice was in high school, she had achieved a reputation as a studious individual who rarely, if ever, whooped it up by drinking with her classmates. She seemed nearly obsessed about “shining” academically so that she would be able to find a career that she not only enjoyed but one that also gave her some financial stability.

After much deliberation, ultimately she came to a decision that she wanted to be a trial lawyer. In order to do this, nonetheless, she would first have to attend four years of undergraduate education.

After Graduating From High School Janice Gets Accepted Into A Prominent Undergrad University as a Springboard For a Career as an Attorney

After Janice completed high school, she applied to and was accepted into an illustrious program in linguistics. Her rationale for this decision was that this subject matter would be good training for law school and wouldn’t be identical to the preponderance of law school applicants who select political science as their undergraduate major.

After graduating with a 3.8 GPA at the undergraduate level, she applied to and was accepted at a highly rated law school at one of the Big Ten universities.

She enjoyed her legal studies but every so often she was snowed under from all the work that had to be undertaken at law school. In much the same way as she had done in her high school and undergraduate days, nevertheless, she made buddies quite easily but barely got involved in social functions until the semester had ended.

After Feeling Happy That She Had Done a Super Job on Her Tests, Janice Wanted to Take a Respite From School and Have Some Fun

Janice was the kind of person who worked vigorously to complete what she started and then would take some time off when she could. As is the case, nonetheless, the vast majority of the things she did between school sessions or during her summer vacations did not have much to do with drinking. Needless to say, Janice was anything but a party-person. Now that her final examinations for her second year in law school were finished and feeling happy that she had done extremely well on her tests, nonetheless, she felt like celebrating.

Drinking at a Local Bar Results in Alcohol Poisoning, Calling 911, The Emergency Services Number, and a Visit to The Hospital

So Janice and a number of her buddies went to a local bar where they had a few mixed drinks. As the hours flew by, Janice continued to drink without having a care in the world about examinations the following day. If truth be told, Janice mentioned to her buddies how excited she was to whoop it up and drink with her pals from school.

As the evening progressed, Janice and her pals continued to drink. If truth be told, she was having such a superb time that she didn’t want the night to come to an end. It was almost like she was making up for lost time and attempting to compress a year’s worth of fun and excitement into a single evening. Such a “game plan,” however, hardly ever works. In truth, when Janice went to the lady’s room and threw up, her friends started to feel apprehensive about her wellbeing.

A few moments later when Janice started to slur her speech, talk in a confused manner, and then fall unconscious, nevertheless, her classmates instantaneously knew that they needed to call 911 and ask for medical assistance because they suspected that Janice was displaying alcohol poisoning symptoms.

Once Janice was in the alcohol rehab hospital, the presiding healthcare professional substantiated what her classmates had assumed, to be precise, that Janice drank significantly more alcohol than her body could process and, as a result, she experienced an alcohol overdose.

After the emergency room treatment team pumped her stomach until no gastric contents were identifiable, Janice was transported to the recovery room. After staying around two hours in recovery, Janice was then transported to one of the regular hospital rooms. Fortunately, the most life-threatening part of her hospitalization was over and all of her vital signs were normal once again.

In response to Janice’s medical situation, her pals caringly telephoned her parents. As a result, early the next morning, her Mom and Dad and her best buddies went to the hospital to visit Janice and check on her medical progress.

Janice Comes Close to Losing Her Life, is Happy to be Alive, and Promises to Never Again Drink in an Irresponsible and Hazardous Manner

Janice was conscious of the fact that she came close to losing her life and, as a consequence, was grateful to be alive. Her Mother and Father were aware how rigorously she worked at school and how little she permitted herself to socialize with her classmates. Nonetheless, they also knew that Janice needed to steer clear of abusive drinking.

As a result, they recommended that down the road, whenever a drinking situation presents itself, that she always drink responsibly and in moderation. Janice was in agreement with this and swore to her friends and to her Mother and Father that she would never again drink in an excessive and abusive manner. In her own words, “I never had an inkling that I would become one of the alcohol abuse and alcoholism statistics in the local university newspaper. I now grasp the fact that excessive and irresponsible drinking is not for me. I give my word of honor that this will never happen again.”

Fortunately, Janice was not only “book smart” but she also possessed common sense. Stated more precisely, she quickly realized that she had made a mistake and decided that she would never make the same error again. In truth, she now grasped the fact that she had involved herself in “binge drinking” and that even one instance of this type of alcohol abuse can end in death.
